So, the theory

If it takes just one egg and one sperm (of millions) to make a baby, and you ensure you BD at the absolute correct time, based on all the evidence pointing to ov, so there's an egg there and within the 12 hour period of it sticking around, some spermies turn up, WHY can it take so long to get pregnant? Even with everything being done right, WHY would it not happen?

I know sometimes an egg is fertilised by the sperm but is then shed because it is not 'fertilisable' and so the progesterone levels change to shed the womb lining and the egg. But I just don't know why if the woman is releasing the egg and the man has healthy sperm and they meet at the right time, it would take so long to get pregnant.

My thought exactly!! I couldn't have put it better myself. The human body just amazes me. Why is it as well though, that loads of people that don't really want children seem to have them very easily and others who really want them have to struggle to conceive for months on end? It's so not fair!!!

I will be recording that programme because I will be working my 24 hour shift on Monday.

It is just so frustrating. I agree with you when you say it is unfair that people who don't want children just seem to manage it, and takes us months!

Hi beauty,
I'm fairly new to ttc. Only 2nd month for me at the moment. So I don't hold out much hope. I hope you manage to get your BFP soon, 6 months is a while. I think I'll be tearing my hair out if I get to that time, I can't stand the waiting at the moment, so god help my hubby!
Thanks for posting to me, it's nice to talk to others in the same boat.

I havent seen it advertised when the programme on then ladies??

Lil Pink Lady, ooooooooooo believe me six months is a long time, but then i keep hearing my body say, you have been on BC for over ten years give your body some time to adjust so i have too.. I know its a long time and each month i feel more and more of a failure and let down yet, i have to remember that the average time is 6 to 12 months for couples and i know BC needs to come out my system and let my cycles come regular..

However i am hoping for my BFP this month i really really am.. Do think something is wrong but then its natural to prob feel like that when we cant get what we want when we want it..
x

Is BC the depo? I was on the depo for 9 months, it took me just over a year to ovulate & get regular cycles again... i then went on the pill for 7 months, came off it and was pregnant on my 4th cycle xxx

I keep thinking that myself. Why should it be so hard? From my point of view, it should be harder NOT to fall pregnant!
