X-Rays and ttc

I am due to have an x-ray tomorrow and will be 8dpo so I suppose it is technically possible for me to be pregnant. Apparently I have to sign a form to say that I'm not pregnant but how do I know?

The x-ray technician only considers you pregnant if you have missed AF. Should I ask that they treat me as if I am pg? I don't really want to make a fuss but it is playing on my mind.

Just explain that your TTC and that you are unsure if you are pregnant or not however you know that there is a good chance you could be.. she will maybe explain then what they might do.. x

i agree with beauty!
when i went into hospital with a urinary tract infection they thought it was something else so they were gonna x-ray me but i was asked countless amounts of times...
are you pregnant?
have you had unprotected sex?

all i kept saying was...
well it would have to be an imaculate conseption because i only had her 2 weeks ago! do you think i could manage sexual bloody intercourse!???

well i know they do frown upon x-rays in pregnancy but if it real important u have it done then they will give u one even if preg, i had to have one when 15 weeks preg with my daughter i was real scared about it but they said there was minimal risk and that i needed the x-ray for health reasons which could affect my baby so i had it she is now 14 motnhs with no probs from the x-ray whatsoever, but im not sure if b4 a certtain weeks it more risky as it sounds like they really worry about it early.
anyways if u have x-ray tommorow any chance u can do a hpt b4 u go?
with my last pregnancy i got a clear bfp on 9dpo, maybe worth a try just to put ur mind at rest a little not sure if any iother way of finding out b4 9dpo though huns, ask doc they know best x x x x

I had to have 12 x-rays when pregnant. It is something they will only do as a last resort, and in my case an x-ray was the only option as an MRI was out of the question. I was 17 weeks pregnant at the time, and they lay lead vests across your stomach area in order to x-ray where they need to. It's not ideal, and they will only do it if absolutely necessary.

I would definitely mention it to them and then they can decide on the best option under the circumstances. That way they'll have all the information, and you will know you have done all you can to ensure that if you are pg the little bean is safe.

As someone has already mentioned, if the area for x-ray is not the abdomen then they may be able to provide you with a lead pinafore to give you some protection.
