This is what i got when I googled it.

Can I use Canesten® while menstruating or pregnant?

Although Canesten is safe to treat vulvovaginal yeast infections during menstruation, the treatment should ideally not be performed during a period and should be completed before the start of a period.
Hormonal changes during pregnancy increase the risk of vulvovaginal fungal infections which should be treated immediately. Although this is aclassical condition for self-medication, it is highly recommended that pregnant women consult a physician before starting treatment.
During pregnancy it is better to use vaginal tablets because they can easily be inserted without an applicator.
This removes any possibility, however small, of injury to the foetus. Canesten itself is not known to cause any damage and can be used safely during pregnancy.

Thanks so much both of you. I found a lot of conflicting information when I Googled it so I ended up calling NHS 24! Spoke to a nurse (male!) who checked with a doctor and said it was OK to use the either the pessary or the oral pill (and cream). All the while DH was in the thrush treatment aisle in Tesco, waiting for the OK to actually pick the stuff up, haha! That's devotion for you! Bless him!

Used the pessary and went to Boots today and spoke to the pharmacist (male again, great!) who checked his big book of info and recommended no oral pill (he said to check with a doctor before taking that) but another pessary just in case it still isn't better over the weekend.
Jeez, what a day!
Feeling a bit better now, though.
Thanks again!

I'm over-analysing, but perhaps I am pregnant and that is what caused the thrush???

Yeah, not the overly-excessive BDing!!!!

Heehee fingers crossed for all!

xoxo

PS - but, seriously, there wouldn't be enough pregnancy hormones yet anyway, I know!!!
