Are tampons okay while ttc?

I'm confused. If you are ttc and you get can you use tampons? I know you are not supposed to use them during pregnancy, but what about ttc. Would they hurt my chances of conceiving?

I don't think they will do any damage. I was advised to use towels to check for clots and old blood, as I was on bcp for years and withdrawal bleeds don't really clear out the endometrium. You want nice thick, fresh blood apparently and you can only really see this on a towel. I did feel a bit like a teenager using them again though!!

scented tampons and pad can cause infections. OBGYN told me to wait until i was SURE it was AF before i used a tampon and to be sure to use them correctly I.E. only use the lowest possible strength. good luck!

That's good to know as I always get the super absorbent kind. Will get some slenders next time and make sure they are unscented.

The advise to use the lowest absorbency needed applies even if you aren't ttc, but is important as well when you are ttc.

This is to prevent infections and toxic shock syndrome. Also they say to replace the tampon every 4 hours and don't keep it in overnight.
