my theory with ttc

you may not like it, but this is my theory.

although i LOVE this website and websites alike, i think they can cause you to become far too stressed and obsessed.

my proof?
last month i joined this site, i learned ALOT about my own body because i became so obsessed with spotting symptoms, googling every little thing, even watching tv shows and things on youtube. i spent every waking hour on here, on google and other sites.

this month, i have stayed away from it, maybe checking it every other day, but refusing to read posts as i know they'll suck me in, i've read the odd one or two but certainly have not posted as often as i would. i think i've posted once.

i feel so relaxed now. i'm not thinking so much about ttc, obviously it's still there in the back of my mind, but i'm not OBSESSING.

i wake up, i pop my folic acid, i get on with my day.

i realise that i'm not in the 2ww yet and things will probably change drastically when i am. but the weeks in between, i can honestly say reducing your internet use helps!

another example. last month i tracked my DPO and CDs religiously. today i cant even remember what cycle day i am, i have to check my iphone apps to be sure!

sex has also become more fun again, which i'm sure you will agree will probably help with the conceiving matter.

if any of you try this theory, let me know how you get on!!

hugs all around!!

I completely agree. When I used to stalk this site daily and post daily I became so stressed out that I just had to stop for several months. I was soo much more relaxed during those months, however that didn't help me conceive either.

I like to keep a balance between obsession and chillaxation, although it's hard! I read a lot so I can understand what my body is doing and help it do what I want (that's the hard part!) and I like to talk with other women that are going through the same thing. But I do understand ttc is harder than I expected and I try not too let it control me. Best of luck to you ladies!

I agree when i first started ttc i was looking up every little thing possible this month i don't think i have googled anything really at all! I mean I have been on this site because I love all the women on here and I like to encourage women and help them when they need it because I know I would like the help if it were me, but I am more relaxed than i was at even CD1.. on cd1 i was like omg valentines day (day i plan to test) is soo far away and then today i was like dang its already feb. 2nd and i'll be testing in 12 days.. I am still temping and doing opks but i'm staying away from all the crazy google websites!

I totally agree that it can become an obsession and add pressure when you are ttc'ing! But it is hard to stay away from because you do learn so much on here and I always feel like if I stay away too long I will miss something important that may end up helping me conceive.

The only problem is that it becomes really addictive especially when you are reading so many post and want to find out if the people with promising symptoms got a bfp or not. This month I have tried to be more relaxed and it has been kind of working because I do feel a little bit calmer in the current tww this time but I am still find myself on here on a daily basis and often several times a day - so I guess I am just a confessed addict!
