Sperm issues

Has anyone got sperm issues like we do?
OH has 3 million per ml but average motility. They also found a varicocele in his testi's which has been linked to infertility. I'm wondering if anyone know if they treat this with surgery to improve sperm count? Has anyone had it done and if so did it improve sperm count? Has anyone managed to get pregnant with very low sperm counts?
I really hope it can be an option as I'm very reluctant (and terrified) to go down the IVF route. We are still waiting for results and review of what's next but we were told before they found a varicocele that we would need IVF to conceive.
We have tried everything to increase numbers...vitamins, healthy eating, cutting booze etc. He is due for another SA in feb.

Would love to chat to people in a similiar frustrating situation.

My hubby had great sperm numbers, but something called abnormal clumping. Doctor told us we could get further testing done to be sure of motility, but it would cost $700 and we just aren't ready to spend money yet. Doctor told us if it was a motility problem, he would want to treat it with hormones (which he said probably wouldn't work anyway) and would eventually lead to insemination. We have decided we are going to keep trying the natural way and if by year 1 of ttc we haven't, we are going to pay for the test. I understand how frustrating it is. We never could have imagined it would take all this time, effort, and soon to be money to get pregnant..just thought it would happen to us like it seems to for everyone else...but we are trying to stay hopeful and enjoy this time with each other. best of luck to you!
