How do you clean the potty?

Each time LO uses the potty, we wipe it out with a disinfectant solution using loo roll. I'm not happy just rinsing it out with water, because we take the potty round the house, including the kitchen, so I think it's important to make sure it's perfectly clean.

HOWEVER, both my and OH's hands have dried out so much since we started doing this, and I think this is because we're using the disinfectant. Seriously, the skin is all sore and cracked, and no amount of hand cream will fix it.

So I need somebody to recommend a different, but still simple, way to clean the potty. Maybe you can you recommend some form of antibacterial that doesn't dry out your skin?

Ta very much

What about using marygolds when you clean it to stop the disinfectant making your hands sore?

For wees I just rinse with water in the sink (urine is usually sterile anyway). For poos I wipe with toilet paper, then rinse with soap and water. Antibacterial stuff is pretty ineffective in my opinion.
