josh had his pre school jabs & his nursery let him in, there is no reason not to unless they are ill & its not even though other kids can catch anything

I purposely kept him off the following day from having jabs only as his left arm swelled & was really sore so didn't want him banging it & getting upset but so far he's seemed perfectly fine.

you defo should get refunded for that day!

I would have gone mad! My son is in nursery 5 days a week full time and that is def NOT the policy at his nursery. Of course I wouldnt put him in if he was ill but I have really never heard of that.

Nope, We werent given anything at the nursery, We just signed the paperwork to say we agreed to the prices and terms and that the twins would be on a special formula provided by us, that they were allowed to administor calpol and that was it.

We never knew anything of this before friday! I am going in tomorrow as we had no call back!

this has been the policy in every nursery i have worked in. the children weren't allowed to come in for 24hrs after any immunisation just in case of a delayed reaction. if a reaction was to occur it would be much better if they were at home iyswim.

i do think the nursery your LO attends is in the wrong though in as much as they didn't make the policy clear to you beforehand and they seem a bit hit and miss as to when they implement it. i would defo raise this with the manager and recommend to them that they make their policies absolutely clear to all parents and staff so this situation doesn't happen again. i would also want my money back in this case.

at the nurseries i worked at we made it very clear to the parents and told them to book immunisations for a friday if at all possible ( i know alot of the time you are allocated a slot that you can't change) so that the children didn't have to have any time off other than the day of immunisations.

Sorry this has caused you so much bother! what a nightmare! I hope the money grabbing nursery deducts the cost of one day for you! if not you could take them to a small claims court and get the money back that way.
The nursery I worked at for 6 months never had such a policy! children werent allowed in with a temperature or for 48 hours after a sickness bug but apart from that! Oh and hand foot and mouth or chicken pox also had a clause but i cant remember the period of time for that, not that its relevant!

I would demand a copy of their policies in full and compensation for your petrol costs etc for the inconvenience of friday!

Noah is due to start nursery once a week in April, i will make sure i get the low down on this now, so in a way you have done me a favour by making us all aware! good luck tmrw! x

Well I got my money back today!! lol. I wasnt too surprised because I knew I was going to get something anyway whether it be my money or a free day because that is what the manager said.

At least I know now so in future I dont have to be caught off guard! And i get some extra money this week too!
