Tantrums... in the middle of the night?!

Hi everyone

Harry has always woken up at least once during the night (unfortunately)! It's not really a problem - we just go in and feed/settle him and he's off again... however, this past week, he's woken up, and when i've gone in, he's been sat up as normal - but when I go to pick him up he throws a tantrum, throwing himself back and struggling and screaming. Anyone have any experience/ideas what's going on?!

OMG I just posted at the same time as you about Molly. She is being a madam at night time lately. She wakes up and I go in to find her sitting, but when I try to get her to lay down she fights against me, and will then just laugh at me. Hope we get some advice!

Thats exactly what Molly does. She also headbangs her cot . The minute I go to pick her up or lay her down she laughs. She was awake for 5 hours solid last night .

Kaya's a bloody nightmare for this some nights. I find that it's best if I leave her to it.

Thanks. I do generally leave him unless he's crying, and we have also left him cry a little too - but he wakes up and is properly crying, sat up.... just can't understand this new tantrum throwing!

Lewis started doing this 4 or 5 weeks ago, not every night but 2 maybe 3 times a week.

I left him sat up in his cot but I bent over and gave him a cuddle, I didn't move or talk to him just a cuddle, (wearing my fleecey dressing gown which he loves) after a minute he'd lie back down on his own. I put his blanket back over him and he went to sleep.

It seems to work for us, not sure why, perhaps he's not really awake, not idea to be honest, but if it works

x

Kaya woke up half an hour ago and had a tantrum about water! She woke Blythe up and everything. I've no idea what's behind it.
