Aeryn is obsessed with trucks, diggers and cranes! Don't really discourage her from playing with anything, apart from plug sockets that is!

'boys' and 'girls' toys... thats sooo old fashioned. Caitlyn can play with whatever she shows interest in! she's more into things like books, jigsaws and blocks though... none of them would generally be assigned a gender. I just think its all a bit mad, if your boy wants a dolly let him... if your girl wants a tool set, great!

for me, i believe children are socialised in thinking what's for boys and whats for girls, so maddi has any toy she takes a fancy too! i love pink and so she has quite a bit of pink for toys, but she has bright colours and multi colours too! when she's old enough she'll choose what she prefers. we love car's so she enjoys them, and a currently fav is her tools from handy manny! all her new words are coming from them - 'tools' and there names

oh to add - maddi spends most of her time reading and doing puzzle's, which like amy said, it mostly non gender specific, and i can't wait to get her a scalextric's, though i think me, james and my dad are going to be fighting over it

Deffo. Mills is SUCH a tomboy. She likes her pram but other than that all she ever wants to play with is her trains/train-set/cars!
She now has 2 different train sets, a few musical trains and LOADS of cars!
Wouldnt have a prob with my (future) boy playing with a teddy/dolly/pram either. x

I agree! If there is a 'unisex' version or a 'pink' version then i always go unisex! For EG my step sister will only let her DD play with PINK blocks, PINK lego, PINK teddies etc etc whereas Mills just has the usual multi coloured ones which are much brighter, cooler and then can be passed on throughout the whole family without anyone saying 'oh but that fro a girl'
