First Shoe's Question!

I got Ollies feet measured today and He is a 5F and the sales assistant in Clarks told me not to get him Walking shoes as He hasn't been walking for long but to get him cruisers instead! She had a bit of an umm and an arr as she said the sizes only go up to a 5 but as He hadn't wore any proper shoes yet walking ones wouldn't be suitiable and too heavy for him! She then said why don't you leave it a couple of weeks until He is walking a bit better on his feet then bring him back.
I decided to leave it as I was a bit reluctant to spend £22 on a pair of shoes that He may outgrow so quick and that only go upto size 5s anyway. I had heard from somebody else that cruising shoes wern't even suitiable to walk out side with as the soles are really thin and they don't support their feet very well!
I went to a sports shop in the end and got Ollie a pair of trainers that are quite light and flexible but He wont even stand up in them let alone walk
He just looks at his feet, points at them says 'oooo' moans and then wants them off!
My question is how am I going to get him used to wearing something on his feet
Shall I go back to Clarks and spend £22 on a pair of cruisers with the risk He will be the same in those?? Or just persist with his trainers then take him back to Clarks for a pair of walking shoes?
Any one else expierienced anything similar with their LOs in regards to getting them used to wearing shoes?

The woman from Clarks is right, at that stage they really don't need shoes. When Kaya started walking she was only allowed down indoors, once she got a bit better I got her some cruisers for outside and they were fine.

Iv just ordered him a pair of cruisers from the Clarks website!
They should be delivered to store within the next 5 days and I got them for £15 reduced from £24

Shame the cruising shoes only go up to a size 5 though as I'm going to be stoofed when He's outgrown them. Especially at the rate his feet seem to be growing at the moment!
Iv only ever seen cruising shoes in Clarks as well!
Fingers crossed these ones last him long enough for him to get used to walking in shoes!

It doesn't take long, honestly. The next pair you buy should probably be walkers
