Gift Ideas for 2YO boy.

It's my friend's son's birthday in a couple of weeks and Elyse & I are going to his party...

Just wondering what some of the best toys for 2 year old boys are ..

If all else fails I'll get him some books & a movie or a Little People playset I think.

any Little People toy, Hannah loves hers (okay so she's not a boy but those things are pretty gender neutral ) or how about some megablocks? Hannah loves to build with those things, they sell some pretty neat sets for fairly cheap.

this toy has also been a huge hit with Hannah (and other kids who have been over), in fact we got it for Claire for her b-day because it seems to be so well liked. You can find it at Walmart and I'm sure Toys R Us has them to

Hmmmm let's see, Hayden still LOVES his Fisher Price Train, not sure how much longer that will really last, I guess it's more of a baby toy. He got a Thomas the train starter set for Christmas and really loves that and she could add to that as he gets older, something he would like for a really long time

Oh yeah one of the best things I have bought toy wise has been Melissa and Doug food, the cut and slice stuff like this

they have lots more to choose from but we bought those for Hayden's 2nd birthday and he loves them, as do his two older brothers

Elyse & him have a playdate coming up so I'm purposely going to say "let's do it at your place" so I can scope out his toys I wonder if he has a play kitchen! I know she got him a desk and an easel and stuff.. a toy kitchen is not in my budget but if he does that food stuff would be great! And I have a Little People obsession so I'm sure if it comes to that.. it will work out okay lol.

That cutting food looks great. I'd be happy if someone bought that for Tegan

Like you said though, you can never go wrong with Little People sets.

I think age 2 is great for buying make-believe toys -- like the play food already mentioned, pretend shopping cart, lawn mower, vacuum cleaner. My son loves his pretend tool box & doctor set!

Trucks, trains, puzzles, & building blocks are always favorites, too!
