Medised

I just thought I'd post this in case, like me; you hadn't heard that Medised is now for over 6's only. A chemist will no longer sell it to you if your child is under 6

I sent hubby on Xmas eve to get Medised as Katie had a runny snuffly nose and she doesn't do colds He rang me in the chemist and said they wouldn't sell it to him They told him it's now been changed to over 6's only and so are alot of medicines

It does make you wonder what they've put in this one as this now the second time it's been pulled in

Anyway thought I'd let you all know xx

its to do with the gov thing aimed at reducing over the counter medications given to young children - i have never used medised in my life and dont think i ever would tbh, but it is still labeled for 3 months plus and they are gradually going to change the packaging as opposed to withdrawing it, as they know it is safe to use, they just want to cut back on over the counter useage

What miffs me off most is that some people actually need it - it works a treat when you have a LO with a cold who can't sleep because they're so bunged up. Makes me mad, just because some stupid parents would give it to there kids every night to make them sleep...

I heard too that the reason was because it knocked the kids out a treat, some parents used it even when LO'S wasn't ill

Everybody I know have said it's brilliant stuff!

Shame some people haven't ruined it for the children and parents of truly poorly 1s

my neighbour used to put it in her babys bottle to make her sleep at night when she was about 18 months, for that reason im glad mthey are refusing it

can the people who need it for medical reasons get it from the gp? i know they did this with phenegans sp? for the same reason as it was listed on the bottle as a sedative for kids

might be an option, i used to get phenergan prescibed form the gp for travel sickness when leah was 2, but i only used it a couple of times because it knocked her out and defeated the purpose as we still couldnt enjoy a day out

I think if it's that much of a problem medised should be given out by doctors only, cause the assholes who do use it to get they're kids to sleep are just gonna go to a different chemist and say they're child is over 6 then still use it!!!
