2 year old chewing/oral fixation

Hello all,

I've had a look around seeing if this has been posted before, and had no such luck, so I'm hoping you guys can shed some light on this.

My son just turned 2, and recently has picked up nail biting (not to the point of blood, but to the point that I never have to cut them) as well as shirt-cuff chewing. He has no other issues, and has always reached his milestones, and is developing quite well. But these nasty habits are driving me crazy!

My problem is that I'm a "Google-r" and read all this stories about what it "could" be, and drive myself bonkers.

Is this a phase? Is it teething? Have any of you experienced this? And did your child(ren) grow out of it, or did you have to do something about it?

I think the shirt chewing def could be teething...they usually get a set of molars around their 2nd bday. As for biting nails I don't know, my 2nd son does it, but he also has some anxiety and ocd issues too that so I just put it to that. I would just try and discourage it but not make too big of a deal out of it
