2 Year old

Just wondering what all the 2 year olds (or nearly 2) are up to, things like speech, colours, shapes, numbers ect. and what activities they are up to.

Just wondering if Dec is on track

Hayden I feel like he's behind sometimes but I think it's because I compare him to Casen (which I know I shouldn't but can't help it) and Casen was really advanced so it's hard to remember what is really actually normal...I'm sure he's not really behind but sometimes I feel like it. Hayden doesn't know colors, he can count to 5, doesn't know shapes. He is talking more and more each day, I'd say probably 75% a stranger could understand the rest just us since we are around him all the time.

I am exactly the same, I feel Dec is behind because of his speech (which is getting better every day ) he is only just starting to get the whole sentence thing proper. Dec can count to 10 he usually leaves out 4 and 7 but he gets the rest. I would say with the speech a strange would understand 50% of what he says right now.

Dont be embarrased hun the average age for a boy to potty train is 3, some boys as late as 3.5 years. Boys are so much harder than girls, I think the whole lazy thing is programmed into boys from birth (no offence to anyone )

I can't get my 2 and a half year old son to potty train either!! He has done a few wees and one poo on his potty but he has days where he's really enthusiastic about using the potty and days where he just won't!! His speech is fantastic he's been speaking since 11-12 months (only odd words at first of course) but he didn't really walk 'til about 15 months and I've heard you get one or the other, a walker or a talker lol. He can count to ten properly and has a go at 11 12 13 but from there just makes it up as he goes along and he know his colours except he can't say yellow lol he says layo. If he doesn't know what something is he'll say "what's that" then copy you when you tell him what something is and he is ALWAYS asking questions about everything. "where are we going" "why?" "can I have..." "Where's my..." lol. I know he's quite forward for his age, saying that though my little brother who is only eight weeks older than my son isn't as forward in some ways... Doesn't speak as well, doesn't seem to know his colours or numbers yet BUT he has been potty trained since about 18-20 months and accident free for at least 6 months!! I have NO idea how my mum did it lol suppose all children learn in their own ways and in another year or two they'll all be pretty much the same I think they just learn things in a different order.

Hunter is almost 2 1/2. He can count to 20, do ABCs, some colors, haven't started on shapes yet. He is very good with potty learning, he only has 1 diaper a day. He has been really into stuffed animals and coloring lately. He has also started the phase of bringing toys to bed.

Same here with the bringing toys to bed he has about 50 toys in bed with him

Dec has been day potty trained since 21 months and fully trained (day and night) since 23 months, he knows colours, shapes and numbers. His speech isnt the best but he is being assesed by a therapist who thinks he is fine for his age, so who am I to argue All things physical Dec is 1-2 years ahead of himself, he can ride a bike, walk up and down stairs one at a time, run as fast as the 4 year old I mind and he can ride a scooter, so I think the speech has been put on the back burner for now !! Its great to hear how they are all doing and it seems all in all they are pretty much all up to the same things. Thanks for replying ladies
