Not eating :-(

Thomas has stopped eating, it has been 9 days now, and I am at the end of my rope!
He has had a cold but he seems much better now but he still won't eat properly. I have tried everything. I managed to get him to eat a little bit of cheese on toast for tea tonight. I am so scared that he has changed from a great eater to a fussy little blighter!

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it due to his cold or is it a phase? How long will it last? He is 13 months...
Thanks

Brody had a temperature for 3 days last week and didnt eat for those 3 days , but since then he has been eating although not as much as usual, which is a little worrying (he will usually manage to eat something he really likes - fruit/ crisps/ biscuit ( although he has also turned down some stuff that he would never normally turn down too , but when it comes to meals he is eating breakfast mostly ok barely touching lunch and eating a small amount of dinner ( somedays are better than others) ... anyway i dontknow if it is still due to whatever bug he had last week or if he is being fussy etc.. but i have read on here countless times , that they will eat if they are hungry and wont starve thmselves, and im sure he will start to eat properly again soon ( did also wonder if his back molars might be pushing again as his cheek was a littl pink earlier) so trying not to worry too much about it.

anyway, i noticed just now that i havnt actually eaten anything today except for a few dairly milk cake bars and have a little bit of a belly ache, but definatly dont feel like eating, so im wondering if this is maybe the same thing he had - the temperature...

maybe try to offer food little and often and see if he will eat a little at a time ? im sure your lo is just getting over that cold still but keep an eye on him and make sure he is drinking lots. hope they both get their appetites back very soon

Could be that he still has a bit of a sore throat or something. Have you tried nice soft things like yoghurt? I know with Sean when he has a cold, he only wants to eat cold things and especially his yoghurt.

is you child getting enough fluid?

Hi, thanks for your replies.

Yes, he drinks water and has his milk still but it is just food that he is off. He is refusing yogurt and fromage frais (spits it straight out) but will eat some fruit pot and likes the little chocolate puddings still. He did a bit better today so I am hoping he is coming out of it.

Problem is, because he didn't eat much yesterday, he was up at 3.30 am today because he wanted milk! I really don't want him to get back into that habit, he has only been sleeping through for about 3 weeks anyway!

How's he doing hun?

AJ had a tummy bug about a week ago and barely ate, I'd taken him to the GP and she said to let him eat what he likes, if he eats he eats. As long as he's drinking plenty of fliuids.
He's better now and eating better than he was before

Edit: Wanted to contine now not distracted

TBH, I dont know if what the GP said is the right way or wrong way, but I'm always happier when AJ has eaten something. He also wanted more milk so had an extra bottle 3 instead of the usual 2.
