Conjunctivitus?

Today Grace has had little bits of whiteish green stuff in the corner of her eyes. At first I thought it was a sleep but it happened more than just when she woke up. If it's still happening tomorrow I'm going to make her a doctors appointment but I was just wondering if there was any special way to clean it? If she has it I know she'll need antibiotics to clear it up but as it's quite contagious I want to make sure I can clean it a bit. Is cotton wool and water fine? Or are there any specific medicine things I can use?

My two have had this a few times, the oldest got drops from the chemist (they are an absolute nightmare to put in!) but the youngest I was told no and just to use cooled boiled water and cotton wool and wipe from I think its the outside of the eye to the inside. I found it easier the hotter the water was because its quite sticky and difficult to get off.

My toddler started with a sticky eye yest afternoon too, loads of yellowy/green gunk. We used cooled boiled water and cotton wool, wiping from corner of eye out. It was all stuck this morning so have him at the docs this aft hoping they'll give him some drops. It is v contagious though, so am just making sure I wash his hands and mine lots to hopefully stop it spreading.

All 3 of my children have had this after they were born! My little boy had it 3 times, it is awful and its horrible to see them like it I was told as someone has said is used cool boiled water with cotton wool and just keep them clean, then I had drops from the doctor which cleared it very quickly! Hope it clears up soon

Amelie has this at the moment but her gunk in her eye is really green so infected. I'd just keep Graces clean but take her to the docs for antibiotics if it turns green too.

Thanks girls, took her to the doctors last week and she did have it so she has to have eye drops 4 times a day. She is not a happy bunny about that lol seems to be clearing up now though thankfully
