Bottles...

Before anyone gives me the bad mummhy lecture Im just looking for some advice.

Seth still has 1 bottle of milk a day before bed time. He wont take it any other way.

How bad is it actually for his teeth, and does anyone else do this still?

He doesnt have them through the day anymore, just water.

Was just reading another thread and it made me think.

x

no problem then hun. It is only if they are falling asleep while taking the bottle, the milk pools around there teeth and can cause damage. xx

he will be fine, its best to wait an hour after he has his milk to brush his teeth as the milk can cause the enamel to soften then you are effectively brushing it away, archie has a cup in the daytime but for his milk he likes his bottle and i cant see that changing soon and tbh im not worried

Jack still has a bottle when he gets up & before bed. I have tried putting it into his cup, but he refuses to drink it & gets very upset, so we are sticking with the bottle for now.

agreed. It's good that he's not going to sleep on it and you are brushing his teeth after the bottle and before bed.

And I've seen lots of babies a lot older than Seth who still have bottles (even during the day) so I really wouldn't worry about it or worry what others think

Hannah self weaned early which is the only reason it was so easy for us to drop her bottles

Thanks Seth was weaned quite early too but continued to loose weight due to his lactose intolerance so Im just trying to get as much of everything into him as I can when he's well, coz even when he picks up a cold the weight drops off him. x
