My Hallie can you have a read and tell me if she is on track or behind?

Hallie is 18 months old now and can say the following, I'm so proud.

Body parts: I ask and she repeats as she points!

Head
Hair
Eyes
Nose
Ears
Mouth
Tongue
Teeth
Legs
Toes
Feet
Hands
Fingers
Bum
Belly/Tummy
Beeeewwwbies (although she feels mine not her own haha)

She can count to 7!

Say short sentences such as:

'There she is'
'Who is it'
What is that'
'Juice please'
'Wheres Darren/Nana/Mumma'
'I can see'
'Ice cream mann'
'Feet pooo stinky' (well thats not a good one but she says it haha)

When she is pooing she tells me she is pooing 'po po' however she doesnt let me know she is weeing so I'm not going to potty train just yet! However when she gets her bum done she tells me before i open it if its 'wee wee' or 'po po'!

She knows daily items such as spoon, cup, tele, chair etc

& will say demands such as 'sit down' 'get down' 'come here' 'out'

What should i be doing now? I dont know how to go about introducing colours or is it too early? I do say pass teh red book, and blue coat etc but she doenst no what it means!

Do you think? My Mum thinks i should be doing more with her i forgot to mention she knows all her animals plus noises too!

I think my Mum is just pushy though, I went to baby school knowing my whole alphabet, numbers, colours etc

Does she sound on track?

Definitely, my little cousins can't even do that. One is three and the other four...their mum doesn't teach them anything, just gives them chocolate and sweets to shut them up
Hallie sounds so clever!!

Hey hun, I am an Early Childhood Teacher and your little girl is doing just fine. A good way to introduce colours is getting a book on them. I use ones that have the whole page yellow, and for example say "We are standing in the yellow castle" or blue page and "We are swimming in the blue sea".

Also when you are dressing her ask if she would like to wear the pink top or the purple one and point to each as you say the colour. Even though she will pick on which looks nicer, she will still associate what you are saying with the colour. it will take time but it sounds like she is a smart cookie!

Well done!

I still can't get BRenn to point at body parts. Nor is he counting. She sounds very clever indeed!
