Swine Flu Vaccine for healthy children?

My daughters school are starting vaccinating children who are not in the 'at risk' category. Currently living in Norway where I think they are further ahead with their vaccination plan.

I had a hard time deciding whether to have the vaccine myself (currently 34 weeks pregnant and had the vaccine 3 weeks ago). Now I have yet another spate of sleepless nights ahead trying to decide whether to vaccinate my two girls, 4 1/2 and 21 months. It was easier making the decision for myself because I did it to be here for my girls and not fall sick but I am finding it harder deciding whether to give it to them. I would never forgive myself if something happened to them after the vaccine but on the other hand if they get swine flu and something happened I would be equally devastated.

I have scared myself by looking on the web and seeing a few cases of people dying after having the vaccine, although the people had underlying conditions to begin with and it may not be related to the vaccine.

I have until Friday to hand in the consent form.

HELP!!! Has anyone else vaccinated their kids or thinking about it when they have no medical conditions?

We will not be vaccinating our boys against it, they are very healthy and we feel they are more than capable of fighting this off

Just got an email from the school to say they now have one confirmed case of Swine flu. So I might be too late to protect my kids anyway!

We've still not decided whether Harry will be having it or not - we're due to get a letter through soon too as they've only just announced that healthy kids will be getting the vaccine here. Would like to hear more arguments for and against.

My eldest 2, aged 8 & 5 are bieng called in for this on Tues as they are asthmatic, I really don't know what to do. My GP doesn't normally like giving them seasonal flu vaccine & they haven;t had a flu jab, so I'm not too sure about this.

I'm still debating over wether to get this done myself I'm currently 18 weeks pg.

I am thinking of going to see GP to discuss this on Mon.

This is such a difficult one!
I am literally torn over wether or not to give it to my kids.
Theres been stuff on the news recently about a form of swine flu resistant to tamiflu now, and then something about the vaccine being linked to some deaths...
The thing is, its all going to trial and error as these vaccines are new and there sjust not enough research to declare them 100% safe, its like playing russian roulette with our childrens health..

I feel like staying in and keeping my kids all at home but I know realistically I cant. what do you do for the best?

Nope i wont let my wee one have it. I never took it myself and neither did half of my collegues i worked with. I have read loads of different literature and still not convinced with this jab at all, was rushed out too quick. Not enough testing for my liking, my son is healthy and as much as i want to protect him from swine flu hes got a good immune system to fight x

I don't have a clue what to do, there's so many differing opinions on it. Sometimes I read something and think I'll definately let mine have it and then I read something else and then I don't want them to have it.

I'm completely torn and dreading getting the call and having to make the decision tbh

i've decided to let my lo have the vaccine since finding out so many healthy babies are catching swine flu and being very poorly my lo is 8 months and has just got her first cold which is bad enough!i will be talking to my doctor about it first but as far as i know its just a bit different from the usual flu jab which is very safe, im still very worried about her having a bad reaction to the jab though x
