Do you always stick to the right age limit for toys?

The reason I ask is that Daisy is obsessed with laptops, if you lift her to it she will sit for ages just pressing buttons.

Now I know its a long shot to expect her to play with one designed for children!

But I was thinking of getting her the pink Vtech one as it has small more real buttons, but it is for age 3.
I did buy her the baby's one for her birthday and she hasnt looked at it twice but it doesnt really resemble a real laptop iykwim?

I wouldnt expect her to learn anything from the vtech one because of the age it is for, but i think she would enjoy it better than the baby one!

She will be nearly 16 months at xmas ....

unless there are teeny tiny parts that I know Ally will just eat, I don't really look at age guidance/recommendations whatever. Obviously she'd use the laptop in a different way to a 3 yr old but it's a good way to get your money out of it! Alasdair has my old computer keyboard lol

nope I don't always pay attention to the ages on toys. Some things I find Hannah likes earlier than the recommended age, but some I find she has more interest in a few months down the line

You can always try it but if she's anything like Hannah she'll still prefer your laptop over hers

LOL Vickie thats what I was thinking! I think this is a last attempt to stop her from hanging off my leg shoutng "up up" everytime I am using the laptop!

I just got Dec this one for christmas, it is on offer at the moment in Argos (he didnt get the pink he got the orange) £14.99. I never pay attention to the ages on toys if I think Dec would enjoy it the I get it, most of his toys are 3+ but then again some of his toys are 6-9 months and he loves them all equally lol

Nope, not at all. Personally I think the ages are daft! Niamh is using toys atm that are branded 18 months/2 years when they are things like hammer benches.

I'd get it for her.

I dont always, as long as it has no little parts she could swallow or parts that will break off easily and she culd hurt herself or swallow i usually let her play with it. I think sometimes, as well as safety, the ages are there to say age a child would appreciate it from too. I have loads of toys that are 18+ month and 2 yrs + and i can't see how she'd hurt herself from them.

Tom had a baby one that was 2+ years plus.. half of his toys are for older kids, don't really bother with age limits

Nope, I've always given Aaron toys for older age groups as long as they don't have any tiny parts that could be dangerous. We got him the orange Vtech laptop a few months ago as he is obsessed with our computers, but he still much prefers the real thing!
