LO ill-Doc not helping much!

Nursery caled me last Fri as Toby had a high temp (39.2), he had been a little off the day before and he has had a cough. OH took him to the doc straight away. Doc prescribed some antibiotics for cough and advised calpol for temp. I was worried as I could tell he wasn't well. Calpol brought his temp down but antibiotics caused a rash. OH stayed off on Mon with him and took him back to docs because of rash. He seems much better in himself, he is playing and eating and drinking ok. The doc changed his antibiotics but his rash still hasn't gone, he has also had really runny nappies. Don't know what to do as been to docs twice already!! Anyone any advice??

The nappies are normal when a child is sick hon. Also, the antibiotics are probably causing it too.

My child has been sick for 3 weeks now. He got the cold bug and was getting over that when he caught the flu bug. So his diapers have been just like this for weeks.

Hope he gets better soon!

Sounds just like my little one, the rash is often caused by a virus. Did the doctor say it was a reaction to the antibiotics? That can be fairly common too though.

As for the runny nappies unfortunately thats what antibiotics do because they kill all the bacteria in your body....good and bad, try and give him lots of fibre rich foods. Bananas are good and make sure he is drinking plenty.

He should start feeling better in a few days
