spoon feeding at 2 and a half year old?

oh's little cousin is 2, 3 beggining of march... and his aunt spoon feeds her purees...?

is this normal? she will eat solid food but makes a meal of it so to speak!

she is quite spoilt in general though

i was shocked on sunday wen we sat down for a meal and she had something seperate and it was more puree than what luisa was eating lol (i had just put some of the chicken and veggies in the blender for luisa)

does anyone else do this for a 2 nearly 3 year old..

am i naeive? i thought most toddlers were eating cut up food by this stage?

Amelia is 15mnths and she is still spoon fed, she does eat a lot of cut up foods herself, but things like yoghurts, jelly and fruit purees i still spoon feed her. She is just a lazy eater and would rather i feed her than do it herself. Not sure what age they should be 100% feeding themselves.

i could maybe understand things like yogurts etc when your out. i have to shower Paige down after a yogurt

But a main meal a child should be doing at least half i'd say at 2 and half years?? And a main meal definatly shouldn't be pureed at this age...unless there are some underlying issue's

Almost 3! and why purees? there are people that like to treat their children like babies like keep them babies for as long as possible ... my mums friend still gives her grandson bottles of warm milk and he is almost 4!! They should def be feeding themselfs cut up foods at 3 years old I think but dont understand purees at 3 x

Dec has just tuned 2 and he eats by himself has done for months now !!! dont get me wrong sometimes I will give him a hand to encourage him to eat more, but he eats the same food as us by himself. I totally understand some 2-3 years olds still needing a bit of help but why is it puree??

Thanks everyone

she does eat food ive seen her do it but i think mum thinks its easier to spoon feed her?
like she chases her round the room to feed her

it wasnt the spoon feeding tht shocked me so to speak.. more tht it was a main meal made into puree?!

Pure'd food at that age? They should be eating it solid by the time they are 2.
