Drinks.

What do you give your one year old to drink? Oliver is still on plain old water and hasn't has anything different. When did you start to give other drinks and what did you give? He has such a wide variety of foods and loves evrything I give him. So I was thinking that oerhaps it was time to start offering him different flavour drinks too! Or maybe it's too young?

I'm still just giving C water but I've been thinking about giving him dilluted juice once he hits 1. I'm not sure!

Water and milk for Hannah as well. She does get apple/prune juice but only when she's constipated.

Poppy just has water and milk too. I just think the longer we can hold off giving her juice and 'treats' like chocolate the better, and she'll carry on just enjoying her water and fruit

At that age Hayden was just having water and breastmilk, we introduced rice milk at 14-15mo? I can't remember exactly when it was now...he couldn't have dairy. He had no juice until 15mo and even now at 2 he rarely ever has it, just occasionally and very watered down. I think water and milk at this age is perfect

When josh was one i gave him flavoured water, I just bought bottles of volvic as he wasn't drinking loads it wasn't expensive, & it was much healthier than fruit juice/cordial types.

He loved volvic strawberry !!

Jasmine has formula, water and diluted juice. I just find the juice helps keep her from getting constipated... and she is only getting about 2-3oz of it. Juice is actually reccomended in a healthy diet for toddlers, but in moderation of course.

My theory is that if they are happy to drink plain water then rather just give them the plain water. Its the best thing for them. If you are struggling to get them to drink water than diluted fruit juice or flavoured water is good.

My LO is now 16 months and has probably only had fruit juice +- 3 times. He LOVES his water and actually prefers it to juice.
