my HV has put me in the 'Teen Mum' category and i havent been able to convince her im not a smackhead alcaholic ok exageration but you get what i mean!

See, I had Caitlyn just before I turned 19 and for some reason even though we don't live together the fact Rich is 25 got me shit loads of respect and I was never considered a teen mum. I didn't even get a teen midwife! So weird!

I think some HVs think they have some sort of super power over everyone. They don't realise that their job is to help mums if they need it, not to poke their nose in where it isn't.

She is such a condescending woman, I'm surprised you put up with her for that long!

Also, I'm a SENCo for my school (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinatoor) and I know that without consent from you, the nursery is not able to share any information with any medical personnel. Will Collin give them consent though?

Hopefully though it gets sorted and she's not your hv anymore anyways so she wouldn't be able to call.

I hadn't seen your speech therapy thread but just read it now and I'm shocked ...how could she be so rude?!! And not be clearly aware that not all kids have perfectly clear speech at Rhys's age, and even if he did have issues (and from what you've said before from when he was much younger and the amount he could communicate through signing it doesn't sound like he does?!) how dare she suggest that it has anything tio do with you as a mother???!!

I was fuming for you having read that thread, and now having heard what she said on the phone to your MIL?! Completely speechless!!

x

i was disgusted by what she said in your speech post. i hope you do get it sorted.
why is it they target ood parents who love their children and would do anything for them yet cruel parents go unnoticed etc.
from the posts i've read of yours you sound a fantastic mum. don't let a stupid hv make you think otherwise
xoxo

God she sounds HIDEOUS! Mine was so lovely we bought her gifts at christmas for the next 2 years! Surprised you didn't clock her one actually (pmsl - although she probably would expect that, given the opinion of you that she has formed!) horrible old harridan. I hope she gets bloody disciplined!
