Holiday/Swimming..

We're all hoping to go on a family holiday to Turkey for 2 weeks in June this year but i didnt realise how young Oakley would be.
I'm not worried about taking a baby on holiday as we'll be in a hotel so i'll have access to everything i need and i can take my pram.

Im guessing my mum wouldn't plan this if he wasn't allowed as she's a nurse and a mum herself?
Her youngest is 7 years old though so it's been a while since she had to get all the jabs and stuff.

Can you take a 3 month old abroad?

Will he be okay in the pool?
Like, is he allowed to go swimming straight away?

Sorry if they're really stupid questions they just popped into my head and im home alone.
I'm now convinced there is a reason we wont be able to go whilst he's so young..

yes you can take a newborn abroad provided they have a passport. i will be taking mine at 2months.

although babies can go swimming, if it is a chlorinated pool it wouldn't be the best option as they are so little and their bodies will absorb the chlorine through their porous skin.

I wrote an essay then my computer decided to update itself
I'll just write some things to think about hun;
  • Heat = probably a frustrated baby a lot of the time, lathering on sun screen 90% of the time because there skin is still so sensitive and will burn easily, dehydration can be dangerous too.
  • Needs = you're still going to be sterilising bottles, making up bottles (unless of course you're BF), he's still going to be very whiney and fidgety so you're constantly going to be fussing with him and when he naps you're going to be watching him like a hawk whether it's in the hotel room or under the shade outside.
Not to forget all that nappy changing!

IMO I wouldn't bother going on holiday just yet cause really you're not going to be able to relax or take your eyes off him for one second.
My friend took her 5 month old daughter with her last year to Tenerife and said she spent 99% of the time in the hotel room because it was the coolest place and he wouldn't sleep unless he was in his cot

Im going to a wedding the 28th June so baby will be 3 months aswel, I decided not to bring her just because were only going for 3 nights and im not too sure if the sun would be too much for her.
My mum told me she would be fine though and as long as you keep them convered in sun cream and in the shade its fine.
As for swimming i read on the net its fine aswel hun .

I have booked to go toMexico for a family wedding for 10 days and my little one will be 6 months old,
I think it will be hard with a baby so young but as long as you take everything he needs & medicine just incase etc he should be fine.
& swimming should be ok too

As long as you have a passport for him then it's allowed (:

As people have mentioned it probably won't be the most relaxing holiday as you'll constantly be looking after your LO but if you want to go then go for it. xx

Thanks girlies! glad to know I'm not the only crazy one daring to take a baby abroad hehe ! I'm sure it'll be interesting :P

Didn't even think about a passport! good job I have some time to get him one before we go

Good job OH is coming too, Oakley is going to have his surname and they're funny about you taking a child that doesn't have the same surname as you abroad now even if you're the mum! Crazy.
