| TIP for getting all ur bits using the Maternity Grant Hey
I'm having a major research moment, trying to work out how i can support this baby on my own and....
I got a Babiesru catalogue with a magazine this month, it was the autumn one and the first page was how you could get everything for baby from them for £575! considering with a maternity grant you get £500 i thought that was wicked so i thought i'd share it had a 3-1 buggy, cot, clothes, bottle sterlizer, bath set alsorts well worth checking it out, i looked on the web and i can't see it so whether it was just a add and they don't do it all as a package or what i'm not sure but it was a releif to know i could have all the bits i need and only have to find £80 (exc nappies of course) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | That sounds like a good bargain We already have cot etc from Caitlin so it's ok for us and I got a silver cross pram given off my aunty on Sunday as we got rid of Caitlins pram/carseat thing.
Another good place for you to check for cheap or even free stuff, is Freecycle. People maybe giving away all sorts including thigns for houses if your interested too!
They give away everything from cots and moses baskets to washing machines and beds. Perfect if your on a budget hope this helps any of you |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm getting the maternity grant too. But only sending my application off on Thursday. To be honest, I thought it would get me everything for baby. But I've almost already got everything. Using my JSA. Yeah I leave myself with nothing everytime I get paid, but it's what a mother does for her child. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Not being funny but you can get things so much cheaper second hand...
We got our cot (mamas and papas pine cot, excellent condition) for £25.
The cot had no mattress but I had one specially made which cost me £30 inc delivery.
Full graco tour quattro travel system (pram, car seat, rain cover, parasol, change bag, foot muff thingy... the lot) for £70... brand new condition, not a scratch on it.
Shop around, you can save loads. |

Most baby things you find second hand are hardly touched, especially clothes, cuz so many people go DAFT buying WAY too much so the kids never get to wear the things cuz they grow so fast.
We got some things new but big things second hand, saved us loads.
Got a load of clothes, graco electronic baby swing, a baby gym kicky thing and winnie the pooh cot mobile for £30. Bargain.
Even if you buy a load of clothes in a bundle, pick out the items you like, keep them, and put the others on eBay. That's what I did and it made me enough money to go and buy the baby things I liked. |
