For the last few weeks I haven't been able to shake this feeling that I might be pregnant, despite the fact that it is unlikely. I've been taking birth control pills for a little over a year now, which I started taking so that I would only get my period every three months as I always have HORRIBLE cramps, which I actually had to go to the ER because of before.

I've never once missed a pill entirely, I did once take a pill late by about an hour, but that was way back in November or so. Considering that it would be unlikely that I would be pregnant. As already stated, because of the BCP that I take I only get my period every 3 months, and the last time was June 10th through 13th or 14th I believe. I didn't have sex for around 3 weeks, June 5th was the last time before the 30th that I did. Obviously the 5th is before the day that I started my period, which makes it even more unlikely that I'm pregnant. My worry however, is that since sperm can live for several days that it did so and I conceived sometime during my period.

The reasons why I think I may be pregnant is a great increase in appetite which has last for a few weeks, breast tenderness, and being more emotional than normal. On either Thursday or Friday I'm going to be taking a pregnancy test to find out whether or not I am. I'm just not sure whether or not it will be accurate since typically tests are supposed to be used around a missed period, but I'm not having another period until September...

I'm really worried about this right now. I haven't mentioned my concerns to my boyfriend yet because I want to wait until after I test. I don't want to get him worried over nothing if I'm not pregnant and if I am pregnant I want to be sure before I tell him.

I am quite young, but not incredibly, I'm not 15 or anything like that, I'm turning 18 in 2 months. I've been with my boyfriend for quite a while, it's approaching two years, and he's turning 20 in a month. Though a pregnancy wouldn't be the best thing for me right now, it wouldn't be the worst either and I know that both myself and my boyfriend would be able to handle it. If I am pregnant there is no chance at all of an abortion. I would either keep the baby or give it up for adoption, I don't know which yet as I don't even know if I am pregnant.

The main point in this thread is to ease my mind as well as get any support and advice that I can. Also, to be told whether or not a pregnancy test would be accurate in these circumstances.

Im abit confused lol!! Doesnt help that its past my bedtime but all the dates etc!!

Considering you only a get a period once every 3 months wouldnt that mean that you only ovulate once every 3 months!!

I would test hun tests are really good .... a used a tesco one on the day before my period was due!! And by my scan I would have only been 3 weeks +5!! I did it in the evening too!!

as for your symptons I found that period and pregnancy symptons are very similar!! Alot of ladies get hungrier round their period!!

As far as ovulating is concerned, technically I shouldn't be ovulating at all since I'm on birth control pills and they're supposed to prevent ovulation.

I am going to be testing though, I'll be doing so on Thursday or Friday. I ordered 5 tests on e-bay since they're cheaper that way and I'll be testing as soon as I get them.

As far as the symptoms of periods and pregnancy being similar, it can't possibly be period symptoms since I'm not due for a period until September.

All I can say is test, else you'll be stressing out which really isn't very fun and will wear you out. Until you test just try to relax not to think of it to much. If the test comes back negative wait a week and take another, just in case. Good luck

I already tested, did so on Friday and it came back negative. I didn't say anything in this thread since no one had replied and I had another in the first tri section. Thank you though.
