Mood Swings :(

Hello, im 18 and pregnant with my first baby. It was all a bit of a shock at first but i'm happy about it now. A baby is an amazing thing!
Even though i am happy about having my baby, i get really bad mood swings. I can be fine one minute and the next i will be in a very bad mood or really sad. Is this totally normal? My OH doesn't seem to understand that i'm not just a "moody cow" i am having bad mood swings. Sometimes something can set it off, whether small or big, or my mood will just change for no reason. I dont like feeling down because i want to be happy about my pregnancy (which i am) but it feels as though my body wont let me be happy a lot of the time. Hope this doesnt sound silly?
Can someone please say if they're going through a simlar thing. Thank you, xxx

The way i got my Partner around it is i said imagine being hungover and everyone and everything around you is P!@#ing you off....then thats how i feel so when i go off on one just ignore anything i say, cause i dont mean it and its good pratice for when im in labour!!! So now when i go off on one he just agrees with anything i say. Disagreeing with me aint wise he has realised (the hard way) lol hope your OH starts to understand soon that its your hormonoes ( just tell him NEVER EVER to say that to you when your in a mood lol thats like giving you a loaded gun) lol XXX

thanks. yeah ive just done it again!! i text him saying what time u in cuz i need him in from work as soon as he can finish cuz ive sorted tea out and he was like "just sort ur own tea out ive got a driving lesson after work" i went mad and i was like ive done a roast so i cant sort my own out. see its not his fault hes got a lesson but now hes not talkin to me cuz i said that so he still doenst understand its my mood swings that cause me to be like this.

yeah ive said things i dnt mean when im in a bad mood and he brings it all back up again and uses it against me. but i cant explain to him enough that its the pregnancy thats causin me to be like this and its frustrating.

Also he doesnt treat me like im pregnant! like ive only got a little bump atm, and he seems to forget im pregnant and leaves me to do things like climb up on worktops to close the window! i said to him if i had a bigger bump he wouldnt let me do that. So what if i only have a little bump throughout my pregnancy?? is he still gna not treat me like im pregnant?

sorry for that rant, needed to tell someone who will understand!

xxx

Its ok hun rant away.

Trust me all men(well 95% of them) are the same. Because they never go through it themselves they will never completely understand anyway. I never thought i would feel this way before i got preg, i thought i would be able to control it etc. I understand what your saying about making tea. My OH always goes the gym after work before coming home, and says the same. Ive found that when i get in from work if he aint back i have a little snack like beans on toast or something to keep me going until he comes in that stops me nagging at him that i cant have tea till he comes lol.

It just little things that help you from going in a mood etc. But i find where house work is concerned i get on better doing it myself as even tho my OH trys he will never do it to my standards and that drives me more mad than him not doing it lol

Yeahh. Well i live with my OH and his mum and sister. and his mum has been away for 2 weeks and since shes been away the house has been a mess!! im left in all day on my own as ive just finished college so im left to clean up!! its quite annoying. and since ive been pregnant ive had extreme tiredness and no energy at all. so im literally dragging myself out of bed to clean everyone elses mess up cuz if i dont who wil? like i was left to clean the fridge out. and i dont know why but since ive been pregnant ive become obsessed with use by dates on food. like if something goes off 2moro i wont use it. and i cleaned the fridge out and nearly everythin was out of date by far!!! and there was a tin of mouldy beans!! so i went a bit mad lol. but i wont stand for laziness, if wouldnt have cleaned the fridge out who would have? and it made me think what if when the baby is born they give it something that is out of date?! (when its able to eat i mean lol)
I think i worry too much! xxxx
