I'm Currently Feeling: | This isn't exact, it has been a very long time.
I called my mum because I was away for a week and I couldn't wait to tell her because I knew it would get too hard.
"Mum I need to tell you something."
"Go on then?"
"No I can't."
"You have to now, whatever it is."
"Promise you won't get mad."
"I promise Toria, what is it?"
"I'm having a baby."
"No you're not"
"Yeah, I really am."
"Stop pulling my leg."
"No I'm being serious, ask Jess, I told her yesterday."
"I'll call you back." *BEEP*
*RING* "Oh."
"Yeah.."
"Erm, what are you going to do?"
"Keep it."
"You do know you're ruining your life."
"I'm not ruining it, I've made it harder, but more worth it."
"O.K."
"Do you wanna go call someone and speak to me later?"
"Yeah."
There was lots of tears, and lots of disappointment but she is now one of the most excited people in my life. My brother told my dad. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I just text my mum at 6am and woke her up, she was dead happy.
I think the best idea is to just tell your parents straight, hiding it and being sneaky will only make it harder when it does come out |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I told my mum before my OH wanted me too, i hadnt really given him much chance to digest it ha ha!! I just asked if she was in a good mood and then i sat down and said that i was pregnant and burst into tears and she gave me a hug and said it was fantastic news. Guess i'm really lucky cos she was supportive from the beginning. My mum phoned my dad cos i dont live with him.
My OH parents were just gobsmacked and asked whether it was planned HA!! But they have all been really great and all very exited.
You have to say early cos it makes it harder.
Good Luck, let us know how it goes. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My mum guessed with my son as I was 17 and I hadn't asked her to buy me any period stuff. I didn't even know I was pregnant as I'd had irregular periods for months anyway.
But we sat down and said what we were both thinking. And she asked me what I wanted to do.
She says now she was never disappointed I got pregnant, just disappointed i got pregnant at 17. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | To be honest they most parents think if you sit down and talk with them it will make them feel you are being more responsible and have really thought about it and are ready to make your own choices whereas hiding it or not telling them just makes them upset and makes them feel you are not ready yet.
my experience
My Guardian - "you look 10months pregnant" (shes always having a go at me esp about my weight)
me - *looks at TV and grins*
G - "your not are you?"
me- "yes i am"
G- "what are you going to do?"
me - "im keeping it"
that was how my Guardians found out (my mum died when i was 8 and i was not allowed to live with my dad) |
