Awww sorry she wasnt more supportive hun but maybe it was just the shock. if you stay calm and explain to her you are keeping the baby, hopefully she will come round given time.

my mum was orginally like that because she had big plans for my future..she had planned me to go to college to complete level 3 beauty therapy (already done level 2) and then eventually level 4 & 5 (foundation degrees in beauty therapy) she told my my life had ended and it was best for me to abort..but i told her that i was still goin to do all those things but it would just have to be in a few years time. shes come round now..only thing is we've not telt my dad yet..but i dont live with him - only see him at weekends. im only 12 weeks so its early..anyways this is ur post not mine lol..ur mum will come round but DONT have an abortion if its not what u want..because if u do it for ur mum u will resent her! and will never forgive ur self or her. xx

I'm sorry you've not had a positive reaction from your Mum, at what must be a really tough time for you

I can say though, that I think I can understand your Mum's initial reaction. You're her baby, and she just wants what best for you. You have to talk to her, and try to understand that this is a shock for her just as much as it wouldn have been for you. If you show understanding, then hopefully she will mirror that.

It is your decision to have this baby, but you wil need support, so try not to push your Mum away

I am so sorry she wasnt supportive. 20 is not so young! You are prefectly capable of having this baby and continuing with your life and doing everything you wanted to do. i am sure your mum will come around once the shock has worn off. maybe it will take her to see your courage and determination before she can support you.

Yeah, you guys were right thank goodness

She said today she was over the shock ans is now okay and quite excited. Obviously she just wants whats best for me but she says she isn't really that surprised since she knew I'd have babies early since I'm baby mad! haha.

Anyway, it's a HUGE relief that she's supporting me and my decision now and has told me I'm capable of being a great mother
