heya am rachel n am 16 n pregnant too. congrats on your pregnancy + welcome to the site. i think you should tel your family first because even though at first they may seem mad etc. they WILL calm down an give you the support you need + want.
Hey there my name is Kelly. I am 17 and I am just over 5 weeks pregnant also. I told my mom on wednesday in a text message as I dont live with her and I couldnt get ahold of her on the phone or in person. You deffinately need to be up front with your parents and just tell them. I would suggest telling your mom first though as they seem to calm down faster then dads do. Deffinately start taking folic acid and prenatal vitamins right away. You can get them at a drug store or supermarket. If you need anyone to talk to at any point I am here. Especially since we are at the same stage in our pregnancies.
Hey, my name's Mary Black I'm 28 weeks pregnant with my first baby, and I'm 15 years old. Trust me, dear, it's going to be very very very difficult. Not just telling your parents but figuring out things like school, money issues, your social life, being a teenage mother is the hardest thing for a young woman to do. Mostly because it's not just a part-time job; everyday, for the rest of your life you will be playing the part, but if you've decided that's what you'd like to do then congratulations. Maybe tell your parents in a text, through e-mail, over the phone or just in person, you just have to decide which they would prefer you to do. Fear might make you want to tell them over the phone, but you should also take their feelings into consideration, just remember that you ARE their daughter and they will love you no matter what.
Need anything just PM me, I'm always around somewhere.
i went with my boyfriend to the doctors. and then i told my mum by writting her a letter.
it was an agonising wait while waiting for her to read it and come and see me. i thought she was going to rip my head off lol. because she always used to say how proud she was of me for wanting to live my life before having children.
But she was soooo supportive. even though me and the dad havnt been together that long (infact we started going out and i feel pregnant straight away. Bad timing huh.)
The fact that i have such a good support network atm (ive only told my mum, boyfriend, brother, his girlfriend and my 2 best friends) its making things alot easier.
Hi hun!!
Firstly congrats on the pregnancy. I'm 19 and when i found out i was pregnant, i was so scared, and thought there was no way i could tell my parents (im an only child so they are really protective and my dads a vicar!!) but when i did they were surprised, but they were fantastic!! unfortunately i lost my baby at 12 weeks, and having them there made it so much easier to deal with! your parents might go crazy at first but your their little girl, and they love you and want wahts best for you! and this will be their grandchild, so i'm sure they'll be more supportive than you think!!
hope it goes ok!!
need to talk, im always here!!
xx
i think just tell them when u know the time is right. telling parents straight away might suit alot of people, but i know myself and my parents, so i know that waiting is the easier option for me. i really think it depends on u, ur circumstances and ur parents. good luck telling them, whenever u decide to do so x
Hi i'm new here too but i gave birth to my first son when i was sixteen, telling my parents was hard but i couldn't have done it without them.
I know it seems like its all too hard but you'll get through it
