Community Care Grant

i am going on the waiting list to get a place and i heard you can get a community care grant obv if you havnt got the money to furnish the whole place they help ..
just wondering if anyones had this before and not to be nosey how much you got?
because i really dont wanna get a place then have it mainly empty coz i cant afford everything xx

i got £1100, i applied for £1900. and they look at what u need and then look in the argos or something and find the cheapest prices for things and give you that amount.
that got me some things but things like an oven, fridge, washing machine, flooring etc took up all of that amount. hope this helps! xx

My dad got £800 when we moved from furnished to unfurnished accommodation.

For a cooker or washing machine they won't allow you to buy a second hand one. They give the money for a new fitted appliance so that in a few months time it doesn't brake and they have to help you buy another.

Remember to add things like cutlery, plates/cups/bowls, pots and pans, curtains, iron.
All the small things add up and if you don't ask you won't get.

we did when we was in cyprus yeah lol but we are back nowx

ooh and thankyouil remember to put in for as much as possible
im gunna ask for 1000 and something then..furniture isnt that expensive its just all the electrical's!x

i dont know much about it but i remember someone saying to ask for a lot more than you need because they give you the BARE minimum and its often not enough x
