hi the same thing happened to me with my daughter, at 33 weeks they noticed i was measuring small and sent me for twice weekly CTG's and growth scans. it turned out she had IUGR (intra uterine growth restriction) which is when the placenta isnt pumping enough blood through the cord. it sounds really scary but apparently it happens a lot. their aim was to get me to 38 weeks when they'd induce. after 5 weeks of constant tests i was told she was doing well and gaining weight and they were happy for me to go to term and let her come in her own time, provided I continued my check ups 4 times a week. i was so sick of stressing out and worrying that i told them to induce me at 38 weeks, and she was fine when she was born. she was 5lbs 3 oz and have had no trouble at all with her. im sure you and your LO will be fine. xx

I'd just like to add on to what i previously said. At 20 weeks i was told my son had sua (single umbilicle artery) so they knew he was going to be small anyway as he got less food and oxygen then other babies already. They said my placenta would fail by 37 weeks. I didnt have him to 40+5 and my placenta was still working but starting to go yuck

From what I understand they would do that if the case were that your placenta was inadequate- not providing baby with everything it needs. Some times when they measure your fundal height (your belly) the baby can be in an odd position and that effects it too, if they are letting you go 2 weeks everything is probably okay- Best of luckxx
