wow.. that's just nasty. They're the evil ones, projecting their precious reputation on you.

Oh no what will the neighbours THINK! They'll snicker in our backs for YEARS because a young girl in our family is pregnant and *gasp* not married!

Trust me it's all about them and their perceived morality standing in their social circle.

I can't stand that crap.

One of my great aunts has been shunned for TWO YEARS by her three sisters because..... I invited her but not them to my wedding! I've seen her every weekend as far as I can remember, the other three live far and I've seen them maybe once every 2-3 years.... They won't even talk to her now. And how is that her fault?? what bs. Worse than kindergarteners.

Just organize your own dang shower, it will be GREAT! Then send them a card saying 'so sad you couldn't come. Please let me know when you join the 21st century'

...ok maybe not that last part.

But seriously.

I got married in bright RED. That poor girl can get married in WHITE if she dang wants. it's HER grand day. Her mother's precious reputation can take a hike. Sorry if I sound upset, this is a pet peeve of mine.

Life is too short to dwell on such stuff.

Wow what nonesense!! I had my first child when I was 20 and I wasn't married. My whole family completely supported me, but the fathers family was the exact opposite. They even went as far as saying that the reason my family supported me was because we're "white trash". But then when my second child came around, the kids dad and i were married and his family was completely different. Just so messed up!! What changed? We had a piece of paper and I had his last name? Big deal. Too bad our divorce will be final in 2 weeks and I'll be married to someone else in a month!

Sorry, I just can't stand people like that! It's rude, uncalled for, and insensitive!

I hope the shower your grandma throws you is amazing!

You and me both! Had my soon to be ex inlaws acted differently my soon to be ex husband and I wouldn't have gotten married and therefore wouldn't have had to go through a horrible marriage and divorce.
