Young Mums Antenatel Classes

Has anyone actually been to any of these?

If so what are they like? and what do they teach you there?

My midwife finally replied, after about a month of waiting for her to text me back, and told me my class is this friday.

I have no idea what to expect though.

iv got a letter sayin to mke my appointment for my class aswell..never been,dno what 2 expect either

but do they just have a young mums one then?
so that means i wont be mixed with the olders?lol or i will coz im 21?xx

I'm not sure, you might end up with the older ones because i think the young mum ones goes up to the age of 19 :/

I'm 18 and my MW put me in the adult antenatal classes

If your classes are anything like mine was then you'll go through
stages of labour and symtoms to expect, pain relief, explanation
of dialation and positioning of when baby in pelvis when being pushed
out, c - section info etc etc.

My classes were split into 2 days though, day 2 was parenting and
about health and well being of baby. Cleaning baby, whether to use
a dummy, steralising bottles, breastfeeding benefits etc etc.

Never taught us how to breath through contractions or getting into
labour positions or anything.

Just a whole lot of info and info packs and booklets.

I'm 36 + 4 ... i went to nearly all the atenatal classes, they were all for young mums, not sure how old the other girls were but im 18.. they are pritty helpfull, so its always best to go and see how u feel once your their, if its anything like mine were theirs only a few classes anyway, so not much point on missing out..

And you can akways take someone with you, i took my sister.

i got the leaflet for these, turned up and they didn't even exist anymore

i remember you telling me about that, the midwife should have informed you, and found you different classes. what a burk.
