I never had to remove mine at my scans.. ? I removed mine early because I started to show early and my body started to reject it/get infected because of my hormones.. it even started pussing and was all red! eww! lol
But it just depends on when you are ready..

I still have mine at 16 weeks...I won't be getting it out until third trimester...

Mine did start to get uncomfortable after a while. The skin over the bar was getting really tight and my belly button popped out so it was pushed up. That was why I took it out in the end. I guess I was probably about 25 or 26 weeks.

When my belly button popped out i took mine out and now its healed and i have a red scar there but i might think about getting it redone.

I took mine out at about 24 weeks when my tummy really started growing. My OH was seriously on my case. Wish I had known about the plastic ones! I've had mine now for 8 years so I feel naked without it.

If it has closed up, I'll use that as an incentive to get my stomach back to normal (well as normal as possible). No point getting it pierced again if I'm too shy to show my stomach in the bedroom or if I go swimming in public.

i have just got a pregnancy belly bar on friday but i wished i had of changed mine earlier as i have a red mark under the top ball due to the other belly bar rubbing and its a bit sorexxx

I kept mine throughout my whole pregnancy, never took it off and never been asked to!

i took mine out for around 8 months once and it went back in - was a bit sore though! still got it in at the mo, cant decide to take it out or not- some reckon its best too, some say not....

i found a pretty maternity belly bar online when i was 6 weeks pregnant, so i ordered it
from gapfillers

and have trimmed it down a bit but i have been wearing it since about 8 weeks, i know i dont need to yet


but i feel alot more corfortable with it, as the metal bars i was using before was making me itch
