Antenatal Classes

Would Gurlies who have already had babies recommend going to these? Is anyone going atm?

My midwife gave me a leaflet thingy with different classes on it and im just so confused. Non actually say antenatal theres:
Preparing for life with your baby
Preparing for labour and birth, 2 sessions
Coping strategies for labour and postnatal exercises
Breastfeeding workshop

Im just so confused

Is it even worth going to any of these and if yea what 1s?

Xxxx

I haven't had any experience with any of them yet, but will probably try all of them and go with the ones I like. May as well take what's available to you! Might be an idea to post on 3rd tri, as a lot of people on there will probably be going to them now as well

I haven't taken any classes just yet but I would take advantage of all of them.

I know the ones given here in my city are free if you take them where you'll be giving birth so really you don't have anything to lose but some time. My sister took a bunch of classes throughout her pregnancy and she said the one she found most beneficial was preparing for labor & birth because there's so much to learn about breathing and so on.

I found for me they weren't useful, apart from for socialising, it was a young parents class so met a couple of girls there which was nice, but other that that, I didn't learn anything, but that's me, I like to do my own research on things, and without being big headed I'd consider myself fairly intelligent, it depends on if you want the basics going over or not, they will tell you about pain relief, what happens in labour, how to make a bottle feed, basic solutions for colic and wind.

All this information is readily available here so if you learn better being taught then go, if you find it better finding out for yourself, then do that!
