If this is the case and i refused to get one taken couldnt he then refuse to pay me any maintenence? ahh i dont know how to go about it? any one had anything similar or kno how it works?

Nope, you don't have to pay! Tell him if he wants one that bad, he can pay for it himself. You know you're your baby's mum, you know he's your baby's dad. He's the only one with doubts!
I haven't read any of your other posts, so I'm not sure if you've had your LO, but if you have and he signed the birth certificate, he's bound by law to pay you UNLESS DNA proves otherwise. But, I don't believe you need a DNA to get maintenence.

**I'm from the states, so you might want to check your local laws on somethings.**

i THINK how it works is.. if he's the one that wants the test, and it turns out the baby is his, he has to pay. if the baby isn't his, you have to. i THINK anyway!
and with maintenance i think if he is not on the BC and you refuse to have a DNA he doesnt have to pay, because there is no 'proof' hes the father iykwim? and he could just turn round and say "well i'm not the dad"
xx

i dont know hun, how much are the DNA tests? If they are outrageously expensive then i can kinda understand him wanting help with the test but like the others have said, he is the one with the doubts.
I havent read your other posts so not sure what the situations are but i would say if it is needed, for example the only way you will get maintanance and they arent that expensive then i would just tell him to get one done and depending on the results you will give him half. Like if he isnt the daddy you will give him money for half the test. (if you know he is dad then there is nothing to worry about :P)
Hope this all makes sence lol

I think they range from about £80 plus.

I agree, to saying you'll pay half if he's not the daddy but if he is then it's him that wanted the test after you have told him all along x

Reading this http://www.csa.gov.uk/en/about/faq/d...-parentage.asp it sounds like he will have to pay until he proves he's not the father, if that turn out to be the case he will be refunded, my only query is what they mean by named as the parent as it could mean on the bc.

Who has to pay for the test?

We expect the person named as the parent of the child to pay for the test.

If the test result shows that they are not the child's parent, we will give them their money back and we will cover the cost of the test. The person named as the parent of the child will receive their information pack and be told how much they have to pay. They must send this amount when they return the appointment form. If they pay for the DNA test at the same time that they return the appointment form, they can pay the discounted rate.

If we accept that the person named as the parent cannot pay for the DNA test, we will pay the fee for them. But if the test shows that they are the parent of the child, they will have to repay this money to us.
Person named as parent being the one who isn't looking after the child
