Hi, Your with New Forest District Council? Is that right? Give me till tomorrow I will try and get you the numbers of who to contact. I went through the same. Im in Dibden just on other side of forest x

Take the letter to council they shouldnt put you in a hostel really dont they normally put you in temp accomodation until they can give you a permanent house?
and a hostel is there is no temmp available?

Jaydee is right Emz ... take the letter to the council. The will put you in emergency accommodation, which is more likely to be B&B in a hotel than a hostel (hostel places are few and far between and are usually given to those girls who are vulnerable rather than just needing money and a roof). They will usually only keep you in emergency accommodation for a maximum of 28 days.... after that they will give you temporary accommodation until after LO is born and until you win the bidding on a permanent council place.

Being in temporary accommodation also gives you more points to bid with

This is what we did and Tattie got really lucky and was placed in temporary accommodation from day one - a lovely little 2 bed house with a garden.

It's got to be better than worrying like you are now and it will speed up your getting a permanent place too, as you will be a higher priority

hmm id take photographs and go to your local housing place, show them and say would you bring a baby up in these conditions?! Its effecting my health etc. be strong with them and maybe, just maybe theyll have a heart and see your desperate need. I would be very concerned about it too hun, they take kids away from damp houses or squallid conditions and your dad sounds pretty messy! Id be concerned about social services... Not to scare you its just the health visitor will probably be concerned. xx
