Soo impatient!!

Well our little girl was due on Monday but she's making no effort to come out! She only has her head engaged and has hardly moved any further down in the last week! Still very active and having big wiggle fits. Havn't had any pain / braxton hicks / twinges / a show... Im back to the midwife for a sweep next week if she hasn't arrived by then. Im just so impatient! I want to meet my daughter! I just don't know what to do with myself! x

To be honest, im not too sure myself!! My last midwife appointment was a bit of a blur to me! I think it's where they give you a bit of a "clear out" up there. They wipe the neck of the womb to help you along i think? I could be wrong, hopefully someone may be able to give more info on here! x

i looked it up because i wanted to know lol
Usually, a membrane sweep will be carried out by your doctor or midwife either while you're at home or in the doctors surgery itself. They are performed during an internal examination and involve your midwife inserting a finger into your cervix (to stretch it a little) and then making a firm, circular, sweeping movement around the neck of your womb. This movement helps to separate your cervix from the membranes of the sac that is currently housing your baby, and is a procedure that helps to stimulate the release of prostaglandins - the hormones that signal to your brain that it's time to start labour.

I had no idea what it was either, i saw midwife on monday & asked her, she described it as giving your cervix abit of a whooosh haha & would be gentle if i needed one as they can cause discomfort xx

I hope this gives you some hope , I went to a doctors apt 5 days before my daughter was born then checked everything out and said i wasnt engaged i wasnt dialating, i hadnt dropped anything no pain no BH nothing , they were sure i was going to have to be induced , and she was born 4 days later and all of it happened in 14 hours , so you never know your little girl might just decide to come good luck and sadly you have to play the wait and guess game , good luck Labour dust your way

Aww hun, it will only be another week or so MAX, not that long after you've already waited 40 weeks. and most of the time they come totally out of the blue, I had no idea either of them until 6 and 9 hrs before they were born, she'll come when she's ready!

When i was preggo i had 2 sweeps, didn't do anything. or at least didn't put my into labor right away ( in the time they say it might). I started leaking fluid when i was overdue by 3 days, went in and they kept me. was only in labor for 8 hours. [:
