Why is my scan early??

My doctor told me today that my scan will be next wednesday. I kno that this is early for a scan coz i'm only 5 weeks into the pregnancy. Please tell me why this is happening bcoz i'm starting to worry that there is somethin wrong with the baby

i think i read one if your posts saying you were 14,
it may be coz your young and they are just making sure everything is going ok.
i may be wrong though.

I don't think it is age related but to confirm your EDD, this is the best time to do it

i wouldnt worry i'd say its just to see when your due exactly as carley said nows the best time to get an accurate date.

You should feel happy, i wish i'd had my scan like that. I went to my docs like a month ago and STILL have no scan date am going insane cos i have no idea at all how far along i am Its rubbish. Doubt its anything to worry about atleast you'll get to find out whether its ok n things

They wouldn't know anything was wrong before the scan, so that won't be why they're doing it
