It's never as bad as it looks or you imagine it to be and that's from someone who had a pretty traumatic labour, the pain I experienced was more in my mind than my body though if that makes sense?

haha I never watched a video before..and haven't after either...don't wanna know!
it's not as bad as I imagine it looks though...and I had a pretty bad labour! The contractions are probs worse...when you get to pushing you just want it out!

Although my LO's head was hanging out for quite a few mins before his shoulders budged...THAt was painful haha! (and dangerous!)

i loved my labour and birth, although it did hurt, looking back now, i would love to just re-live it just one more time, your body just copes, like you go into yourself, i wasnt really aware of anything else around me, it was truly an amazing experience!..enjoy it!.. x

same as above, RASPBERRY LEAF!!! i think it helped me alot even if its said to not help. i had no pain relief either and felt the ring of fire but the pushing kind of turned offthe contraction pains which ..... wow they kill.

i watched LOADS of videos because the first one i watched on yoiutube the lady had a ORGASM whilst giving birth and i knew that wasnt right, so i watched another and she wasnt screamin (later found out she had epi) and i thought that wasnt right, as i was used to the tv births lol then i watched one of a women screaming but that didnt seem right either because of......i dunno why but then i got a facination of watching diffrent births, and in the end my birth was NOTHING Like any i had watched

hth xx

ROFL Hannah .... your post really made me laugh You have a great way with words

Jasmine is right - you just go into yourself and let your body do what it's designed to do. You don't feel the stretching (or see it thank goodness!). Contractions aren't fun, but I found that it helped to visualise each one as pushing my baby just that little bit closer to being in my arms

TBH I didn't find contractions to be THAT painful. I thought I was going to feel like I wanted to just be put out of my misery and shot on spot lol... but I was induced, had an epidural- after 5 hours but TBH could have gone longer without it.

It's back labour that's the real fun

I did have a little freak out when the due date was approaching when it hit me I was gonna have to push her out and it was gonna hurt, but I figured billions of women have done it before me, it's natural, I can't get out of it now- the day was going to come if I was ready for it or not, anddd I realized every birth is different so it's hard to be totally prepared. Try to keep an open mind and remember you're surrounded by people who help lots and lots of people have birth if it's any help to you
