Who knows anything about the Wii?

Very random thread, but didn't really know where to post this, so waalaa here I am, posting it here lol! Figured as you get so many good replies on this forum, someone must know something about the Wii!

My boyfriend for Christmas is getting me the Wii + Wii fit for Crimbooo I was going on about wanting to go to the gym after LO was born but couldnt as I'd have him to look after, so boyfriend suggested this an alternative haha.

My mum asked me before to do a Santa list, I feel so much like a baby haha, i'm having a baby but yes mother I'll go do you a list haha! And I wanted to put down things for the Wii..but i'm not sure what to put. I mean, what is a Nunchuck? :S Lol and do you need these..and how about these docking stations and all the little golf clubs and tennis rackets? And remotes? I thought like the Playstation it would have come with a remote but it doesnt say it in the argos catalogue!!

So if anyone has a Wii/knows about a Wii please tell me what I will need!

x

Your Wii should already come with everything you need, especially if it's a package. It will come with a nunchuck for sure, not exactly sure how to describe it but i think it just goes on the end of your remote. You don't really need the tennis racket or golf club because the actual Wii remote does it just as good.

They usually only come with 1 remote so it maybe an idea to buy an extra one. I've had my Wii a while and love it Although haven't played on it for months what with being preggers

I just bought the Wii and LOVE it. Okay so the Wii console comes with the Wii remote (WiiMote) and the Nunchuk. The nunchuk is something you use if you need both hands for what you're doing in the game. It prompts you if you do or don't need it. I like it for rhythm boxing (so gets your heart going on the WiiFit). Above poster is right, you don't need the wii sports attachments to play, but I think they would be cool for enhancement. If you're a Star Wars fan, ask for The Force Unleashed, and the light sabers for the wii mote, they light up and make light saber noises. They have different exercising games for the wii fit, I have Wii Active, and it works really well. Anyway, Have fun!

id say ask for another remote and nunchuk coz u usually only get 1 with the package,
the nunchuk lets u play games wear ur using both hands (ull c wat i mean wen u get it).
otherwise ask for sum games!
Mariokart is my fave - in which case get a couple wheels, u can do it without but i think its way easier to hold with the wheel.
Enjoy! x

Heya hun In the box you'll get:

The Wii Console
Wii Remote (main controller)
Nunchuck (add-on to the controller)
Sensor-bar (to pick up the signals from the controllers)
Plastic stand for the wii
All the leads you need etc
Wii sports game (5 in 1 game: tenis, golf, baseball etc)

The wii remote is what you'll use most of the time but certain games (that need you to use both hands) require you to plug the nunchuck into the bottom of the wii remote so you can hold one in each hand and use both hands.

You'll have everything you need to get you started but some optional extras that you might like are:

Extra wii remote
Extra nunchuck
Battery packs/docking stations (the remotes take AA batteries so you might get these to save on keep buying batteries but its probably cheaper just to get an AA battery charger with rechargable batteries)
The little golf clubs/tennis rackets etc are just to make the game play a little more realistic, but again they're totally optional

I wouldn't bother with sleeves or anything for the controllers as most of the new consoles/controllers come with them

i say

.two remotes
.remote chargers (otherwise you always changing batteries)
.nunchuck (you need it for games with boxing and things)

thats boutit really tennis rakets aren't needed if u have nunchuck but two remotes are good if you want two player

Ooh I lurve my Wii the Wii fit is pretty fun. Just make sure you wear the wrist straps. Someone I know was doing a voilent swing, and the controller swung out of their hand and smashed their TV!
