That is awful.. though you say she didn't mention having an abortion til you asked- do you think she could have had a late MC or something and not wanted to say? It seems awfully odd for her to just claim to love it then kill it...

However if that is the case then what a horrible person :O some people don't deserve to be able to get pregnant if this is what they are going to do...

I know this is a pregnancy forum...and there are lots of people here struggling to get pregnant..but I can't believe how judgemental some people can be when no-one really knows her situation or what has happened. It can't have been an easy decision, you wouldn't post the pictures unless you cared, so it must be hurting.

Are you serious 24 weeks? There are babies that are born at 26 weeks and survive thats insane that they abort them that late. And as for your freind you did the right thing I cant believe she did that.
I know someone who had her baby at 23 weeks. The hospital helped her even though they didn't have to legally and her baby is now two years old and healthy! It's outrageous that you can have an abortion until 24 weeks!

Sounds like she really cared about her baby, you dont know the whole story i agree with what someone else said maybe she had a late mc.Even if she didnt its such a minefield when your not in that persons head like, im completely against abortion (unless its a case of rape/incest/etc) for the same reason as what you said, people trying to so hard to get pregnant then theres those selfish people who kill theirs when adoption is so much kinder. Then again none of us can really comment because every persons situation is differant, its hard really i guess to comment but end of the day we shouldnt judge her because we dont know the full story. Its hard not to be angry

Well, I'm sure she had her reasons. Maybe she was trying to convince herself that she was happy by going on and on about being a mom?

And, excuse me, there is nothing wrong with abortion. If you don't like them, then you don't have to have one. It's her body and if she doesn't want to go through to birth, that is ultimately her decision. I wouldn't have one right now because I desperately WANT a baby, but if someone got pregnant and didn't want to be, that their choice.

Also, the limit is 12 weeks in the US. Is it 20 out there? I hate our old president.... *growl*

In England, Scotland and Wales, abortions up to 24 weeks is the risk continuing with the pregnancy involves a greater risk to the physical or mental health of the woman, or her existing children, than having a termination. You need two doctors to agree, and in reality this isn't difficult at all - I've never heard of a woman not being able to get an abortion.

Abortions after 24 weeks are allowed if there is grave risk to the life of the woman; evidence of severe foetal abnormality; or risk of grave physical and mental injury to the woman.

I'm not sure if there are exceptions in the US for health. I believe that there are for medical/mental things.

Actually, at least in my area of the US, 24 weeks is still perfectly legal to abort, though most clinics only do it through 15 weeks.

That's horrible that she would do that, and it really upsets me. Maybe she was lying about being pregnant in the first place?

I used to think that abortion was ok, depending on the situation, but I have since changed my mind. I'm not going to get on my soap box, but ugh.
