Like you my period used to be right on the day, so when I was 5 days late I took a test which wasn't very clear. So to put my mind at ease I just went to the doctor

Hiya, you said you were worried about the spotting- but it could be due to implantation. When the egg burrows into your lining it sometime bleeds a tiny bit. It is a good sign normally and it's really normal. You should definately be able to see a result 14 days after implantation. So I think you should test again but don't worry if it doesnt come up and it take another week or so til you get a positive if you are pregnant. GoodLuck!
