Miscarriage? :'(

Okay, so I tested on Monday night and got a negative result, and put everything down to my pill messing me about. Had felt like my period was coming for really all of July, had cramping on and off, mostly in my left side, increase in discharge, which started going brown. Then I had a few hours of really light light light pink blood one night and thought "Just the pill". Then today I woke up and was fine, and at about 11 o'clock I started getting the worst cramps I had ever had, and the pill I am on is meant to help with cramps. Then started what I thought was my first normal, proper period in ages. The cramps were really bad throughout the day and I woke up in a sweet after falling back to sleep for a few hours.
Went to my boyfriends and we went out for dinner with his daddy but I was in too much pain to eat anything so I had a couple of cups of tea and the pain started to ease off. Went back to my boyfriends and got home just before 11 this evening and went to the toliet to see the most blood I have seen coming out of me in 2 months a long with something else.
This sounds disgusting buttt there was a little lump of squidy pink stuff it was about 1.5cm big and had a blackish coloured dot on it. Showed mummy and she looked a bit scared and went all up beat on me...then next time I went to the toliet there was like a string of the same type of stuff with another black bit on it, it was like tissue and was a fleshy colour. Now the pain has stopped as has the bleeding. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow anyway!
Just would like if anyone could shed a bit of light on this for me please.

The doctor should be able to test your hormone levels as miscarriage will not affect hormone levels for a few days...ie, same pregnancy hormones after a miscarriage. Try not to be worried as if you got a negative on a pregnancy test it is less likely to be a miscarriage. Of course you can get false negatives too, but wait for an answer from the doctor before you get too upset about the unknown

Sounds like it was a miscarriage, but I really don't know much about them... It'd make sense, I mean, it gets let out with the blood... I really don't know though.

Try not to worry about it to much as it could of been a really heavy period, if you say you haven't had one like that in a long time?.. When my periods have been 'alright' and i haven't been in much pain or haven't lost to much blood; after a few months i get the worst period ever! lol.. & that maybe what has happened with you? Also, the lump of squidgy pink stuff that you say you had, that may be a clot? As disgusting as that sounds! But get yourself to the doctors just in case hun. I hope everything's alright! xxx

I don't really think it was a heavy period because at about 11 last night, the bleeding had stopped completely (I made sure to keep checking) then I had a tiny bit this morning. I have had "periods" in the past 2 months, just not proper ones! Going to the doctor in 4 hours and 10 minutes, nervous

Hey I think somewhere in the forum there was a thread (pssobily on the miscarriage section) whihc says that even if you had a miscarriage you wouldnt see it..

heres a quote form the facts and myths :

Quote:
But I saw some tissue that must have been a pregnancy.
A baby from a pregnancy that made your period less than two weeks late is not usually visible to the naked eye.

Even if the baby had grown, it would be about the size of a grain of rice. This would be impossible to see amongst the blood and clots. What you are seeing may be part of a pregnancy, but is more likely just clots and uterine lining from an off-month cycle.

But I got this huge golf-ball sized clot I've never seen before. It had to be a baby.
Tissue that is like a ball is often what is called a corpus luteum cyst, and not a baby.

An extra long or extra short period can be caused when the shell that once housed the egg (called the corpus luteum) swells in size and throws off the hormone chain. This ball will come out in the period, leaving many women to believe they were pregnant, when actually they had a non-viable egg that month.

Without a positive pregnancy test, it is impossible to know for sure if you were pregnant. If you are actively trying to get pregnant, and have had several suspicious periods, then it is time to get tested for a luteal phase defect. You may indeed be losing babies due to low progesterone. One way to possibly find out is get to the doctor immediately when you think you are pregnant but start bleeding heavily (do not wait, even a day or two) and have a quantitative hCG blood pregnancy test done. Any hCG in your system would show that you were at one point pregnant. Otherwise, unless your blood type is Rh negative, you should not need to worry about a lost pregnancy.

it sounds like a miscarriage to me just because of the way it got very heavy and then suddenly stopped and the fact that the cramps came and went with the bleeding, but i would see the doctor just to be sure.
