Hey Unsure, not sure what's going on with things your end as of now, but I figured you might like this website: http://www.bmww.org/forums/ . It's a really helpful site to talk to women who have both had an abortion and those who have gone on to become parents. I found it helpful when I was trying to decide. Hope things are ok with you!

Me & DH are 20 & 21. We are both in school, I was working full time as well before I got pregnant. We have our own place, but still are very close with our families and rely on them for support. Our pregnancy was not planned, but we both knew it could happen. When we found out I was pregnant, we were both excited, but dreaded what our families would say since we are still young and in school, and they were hesitant about us getting married this young.

When we told my mom, first thing she said was I'm too young to be a grandma! Then she laughed and gave us hugs and took us out to celebrate. When I told my dad, I told him I was really sick.. and tired, and nauseas. He asked if I was pregnant, and I told him no, since I wanted to tell him in person. He actually said, "Oh thank God, you dont need that right now." I started crying and told him the truth, and he was super supportive. Hes really excited, and still feels bad about saying it. DH's mom however, suggested that we considered an abortion. It hurt, but she got past it. Shes thrilled now thinking of her little granddaughter. Parents can be very supportive, even if its a shock at first.

I personally could never have an abortion, but I have a friend who had one, and then got pregnant a couple months later and just had her son in Dec. I also know 3 women however, who have had an abortion, then TTC for a long time, and had no success, and they feel its because of the abortion. I'm not trying to tell you what you should do, I just think you need to think it through very thoroughly. Good luck, either decision is going to be difficult.

I'm 18, my OH is 23, and we are having our first. We have been together almost three years, I'm in school and working part time, and he works full time. We live with his mom (who hates me, btw). We bought a trailer and set it up on his land, however we are having to redo everything in it (only paid $800 for it, but are going to have OVER $8000 in it by the time we finish), and the only reason we were able to afford that was because I did good in school so I get extra money back every semester (over 6000 last semester, and slightly over 5000 this semester). We are completely not ready financially wise, we dont have anything in savings and no money put back and only 2 months to go until our LO is here. We are lucky enough to have the support of all my family, and some of his.
His mom told me to go take a pill to "start my period".
My mom though, was completely happy but said she was too young to be a grandma! (she is 36, had me at 17). I know she will always be there for me and never let her first grandson go without.

I think you should definitally tell your mom before making any decisions. In the end, the decision is yours. But the decision is alot easier to make knowing you do/do not have the support of your family.

Either way, good luck!
