How do you afford it?

So I have a flat, and he has a car, and I'm learning to drive. We both work full time. But when are you supposed to stop working and how do you afford not to work? I'm terrified that we could never afford it and if my family did turn their back on me, what would I do then if i needed support?

How do you all manage!

You live within your means. By the sounds of it you're ALOT better off than most teenage mums x

What Toria said. YOu live the lifestyle you can afford. You will get maternity pay from work once you leave and a couple of grants I think

You go to the job centre and tell them that you're pregnant.. They'll ask you how many hours you work or you tell them.. and they'll give you the correct information and application forms you're legally allowed to leave work 11 weeks before giving birth and if you work more than 16 hours a week, you're entitled to maternity pay. If not, you will recieve Maternity Allowance.
You will also get lots of books and leaflets etc. when you see your midwife and one of those is a huge benefits ring binder book, and it talks you through everything to do with financial issues during pregnancy. I think? Well that's what i was given anyway.

I'm sure you'll manage sweetie it's not easy but how do you think all of these other couples survive? Lol

okay so, im pregnant. what now? do i go to the doctors, and what then? i dont want to be frowned at although i know it's going to happen a bit during a teen pregnancy. i've only ever been dragged straight to a clinic and booked in for termination before ;/ so i don't have a clue :[

I've never been frowned on for being a teen mum (or I'm oblivious)

Go to the doctors then they'll sort you a book-in appointment with a midwife x

I look about 12 too and I've never been given stick, just the occasional stares. Go to the doctors and make an appointment with someone and they should get you a booking in appointment at your local hospital

You'd get more stick for having an abortion
and i wouldn't care what other people think.. Not giving a shit now will prepare you for nasty situations you may have to face in the future.. It's not about growing a backbone, it's about knowing who you are and recognising that your feelings and your baby's feelings and welfare are all that matter
Just go to the doctors and tell them that you're pregnant and they will book you in for your first appointment with a midwife. You'll also have a booklet thing that you will be told to take with you everywhere! Lol.. With your bloods in and details etc etc.
Is that what everybody else had? I don't like saying these things incase i'm the only one who actually experienced it lol.

xx
