is it possible for a pregnancy test to be negative when you are pregnant?

because i had sex with my boyfriend a month ago and the condom broke & this month i havent come on my period it was due 2weeks ago & i went to a clinic today 4 a pregnancy test and it came out negative,

ANY IDEAS???

not on the pill or never have been.

periods are regular ish maybe a few days late but never like this.

not stressing or anthing

From experience yes. Got be things that could affect it. Eg pill. I think?
Maybe just be your periods havent settled yet? Or irregular? Or your stressing/worried causing them to delay?

It is possible early on to get a negative, all you can do is wait a week and try again.

Search false negatives on google... if memory serves me correctly you get some sites up

It is possible to get a false negative.

My advice would be to either go buy an early detector pregnancy test like First Response and take it in a couple of days.

If you're 16.. there could be lots of reasons for a late period. First thing that comes to mind for me is that maybe they just haven't regulated yet. Maybe stress too?

Are you having any other pregnancy symptoms? I'd say go to the doctor if you don't have your period in 2 more weeks probably.

It could be that it's a faulty pregnancy test.. I know a few people who have had to take several.

Or like somebody else said, it could just be your age, teenage girls do tend to have one or two irregular periods. If not, and you are experiencing other symptoms make sure you go to the doctors or take another test but in a couple of days.

What brand pregnancy test was it?

yes it is possible, its more rare to have a fake positive though. your negative is probalby because the hormone is not strong enough yet
